Daniel, ever try pollinations.ai? I’m working on a fun post-exam AI powered coding project for my kids and Claude suggested it as a good sandbox where they could build an AMA bot or image generator or … the school runs Google Classroom so another option is to lean into Gemini but pollinations looks more fun

I have actually seen pollinations briefly before (it's even in my bookmarks list), but I must admit I haven't explored it. That makes it the perfect candidate for next Thursday's "Live & Learn" session, actually, where the whole point is to test new stuff together. I may try to find a similar site and see if I can do a side-by-side comparison live.

But I like the concept, especially that they give you some compute for free for all models and that your users can be asked to bring their own "pollen" so you could build usable apps without having to cover the costs for others for it.

Have you used it yet? Any initial impressions?

I haven’t; but I think this AI App idea has legs and pollinations seems like perfect AI backend for it

That’d be cool if you dug in; remind me what time those sessions are and if you record them?

Normally I'm aiming to have them on Fridays at 2ish PM CET, but this week my Friday's booked, so I'll go live on Thursday, 2:30 PM CET. It's all up there in the post. Feel free to also fill out the survey. I'm trying to make these sessions as useful as possible for the audience without making it a whole polished workshop. So any input is welcome!

(And yes, recordings are available for paid subscribers.)
