thats pretty awesome and I'm pleasantly surprised that while Co-pilot isn't as good as Tripo it doesn't suck either.

I'm now using NotebookLM + a bot army to teach my High School CS class. When I loaded up all the sources I noticed new options in the Studio - including VIDEOS!

I created a short one for class Wednesday and they were mesmerized. I may have cracked the attention span of 16yo's. I made a longer one for today's class (7 minutes v 2minutes) so I'll see how magical video really is.

While they aren't 3D, the videos are arguably more impressive than the viral podcasts a year ago. It's a kick using AI to teach this class - we're horribly behind and AI is going to save us.

Do you mean the new "cinematic video" option? Are you on the Ultra plan? Because last I checked, it was only for Ultra subscribers. But yeah, the demos I saw looked very neat.

But yes video with sound really ties things together nicely, so it's a big step up from podcasts. Especially for information-dense stuff you'd normally be using NotebookLM for.

no and no - it's the schools plan so that'd be whatever Google Classroom gets. They are two flavors - Explainer and Brief. The brief ones are perfect companion to my lecturing. You can pick a visual style but I've found it's best when you let the AI choose. So it's like a slide show with narrative.

I wrote about how teaching HS with AI is going today AI High - https://newsletter.wirepine.com/p/ai-high

The short video is embedded in the article and maybe i'll share it on notes tomorrow. It's good. My daughter the UX designer's observation was 'wow AI really likes arrows.' I tried the longer Explainer style today and while it told a compelling story/lesson I feel like it was too long for these kids so I'm going to stick with the Brief ver.

Ah, but those video overviews are hardly new. They've been around since late last year I believe and I even showcased them back during my Live Q&A in January: https://www.whytryai.com/p/live-workshops

And yes, they're super neat but they're basically slide decks with spoken voice-over.

The truly new thing is this bad boy:

It’s a legit video using Nano Banana and Veo and is only for Ultra peeps so far.

That's why I thought that maybe you were lucky to already have access.

Will check out your post tomorrow!
