Brian was saying Codex is really good for deep dives into a single turn, while Claude Code is great for doing the whole thing in one shot. Each have their relative strengths, it seems (what a shocker!).
Yes, that's a good summary of the current vibe checks I've been reading: Codex is solid and more reliable/predictable but less creative, while Opus can think outside the box but sometimes, like, a bit too much?
Welcome to Claude Code boat, and the boat is only getting bigger in size haha
Great use cases and great tips on how to get more out of it. My biggest one would be - learn how to use slash commands, agents and subagents, skills. Those will be crucial.
I wanted to see how codex does compared to Claude so I did up an anniversary site for the amazing spider van. It actually became a more complex site than the static site I did with Claude because I wanted to build a multi-leg trip planner which needed a bunch of server side code. After it was done I went back to Claude though. It's hard to quantify but it just feels better. Will have to try the codex app; saw Charlie write about it.
Heres the trip planner (need to cleanup some of the debug stuff)
I've gotten into github as well! I think I mentioned: I'm going through codex, but very similar experiences.
Also: I wrote about AI and forgot to tag you. i'm a dummy, but go comment anyway - it's about how to stay relevant going forward!
Yeah, I took Codex for a spin briefly, and it seemed to work pretty well, too. Will definitely test drive their Codex app when it drops for Windows.

Thanks! It's been quite a fun ride so far, and I get why everyone's been raving about it.

Hey nice, I just tried a logistically insane trip from Copenhagen to Berlin to Paris and back to Vienna like a lunatic. But it works!
It's definitely on my list to try the Codex app when it's out for Windows, just to get a good sense of how the two compare.
Also, Every had a good "vibe check" post about Codex vs. Opus here, sounds like they're kind of aligned with your experience.
