This is very educational, thanks. Given that I just got involved with image generation a few weeks ago, I know close to nothing about MidJourney. I've been using Stable Diffusion at dezgo.com for the simple reason that was the first image generator I stumbled upon, and it's quite simple, no signup required, appealing to newbies etc.

Perhaps it's time for me to stretch my wings and dive in to MidJourney. I think I'll start by exploring your archive. Thanks as always.

Happy to hear you found it useful, Phil!

Yeah my start with generative AI was also with Stable Diffusion. My very first post on this newsletter was about it. You can see the SD articles here: https://www.whytryai.com/t/stable-diffusion

But at this point, Midjourney's definitely the stronger model in terms of image quality, etc. Stable Diffusion on the other hand, can be run for free and has lots of specialized mods/add-ons/spinoff models that let you do more stuff with it if you know how.

Reach out if you're looking for any tips.

Thanks for the link and your input Daniel.

I seem to be at a point of trying to decide how much time, money and effort I should invest in mastering any AI image generator. I don't have a good feel yet for how much difference there would be between what I'm doing now, and what better tools and skills could produce.

For me, the AI images are the raw material for a video editing process which involves all kinds of other things, so AI is just one of the tools I can invest time in.

Anyway, I'll keep reading and learning, thanks for the help.
